The iMapInvasives website ("website") is owned by NatureServe. By using iMapInvasives, you not only signify your agreement to these specific terms and conditions for iMapInvasives, but also NatureServe’s Terms and Conditions, which, along with its Privacy Policy, govern your use of NatureServe’s websites.

iMapInvasives Terms of Use and Privacy

Users of iMapInvasives agree to the terms and conditions set forth below. NatureServe may revise this Agreement at any time by posting the amended Terms of Use on this Website, and you agree that you will be bound by any changes to the Terms of Use. NatureServe may make changes in the services described on iMapInvasives at any time. You understand that iMapInvasives may discontinue or NatureServe may restrict your use of this Website for any reason.

Definitions: For purposes of the iMapInvasives Terms of Use and Privacy, 'Public' is anyone reading the site without access to password-protected content; 'Users' include anyone entering the password-protected portion of the site that contains content such as point-specific invasive species locations. 'Contributors' who are also users are individuals who will provide user-generated content to the site.


NatureServe grants permission to users to use, copy and distribute Content on the iMapInvasives website pursuant to the terms of this Terms of Use and under the following conditions:
  1. The copyright notice, © NatureServe, and any other copyright notice of Contributors as applicable, must appear in all copies;
  2. Any use of the content available from iMapInvasives must be for informational and educational purposes only and not for commercial use;
  3. No graphics, photographs or other visual elements from the iMapInvasives website may be used, copied or distributed separate from the accompanying text without the prior express written consent of NatureServe;
  4. The following citation must be used in any published materials which reference this web site or the Content found within:

  6. The Content is intended for general public use and may not be relied upon for regulatory purposes, land-use planning or other legal decision-making.


All rights to the name, "iMapInvasives" and the domain name, for copyright or trademark or other purposes are held by NatureServe.

NatureServe's trademark registration of iMapInvasives is pending in the United States. Unauthorized use of the iMapInvasives trademark, service mark or logo may be a violation of federal and state law. Title and all ownership and proprietary rights, including but not limited to copyright, patent, trademark, trade secret, and common law property rights relating to the iMapInvasives Website code, are held by Florida State University.

Title to Content submitted to this Website is held by the original contributor subject to the terms of Section 7, "Content Sharing License Agreement".


At this time, Users need to be 13 or older.


Users will be assigned a username and password with which to access restricted areas of this Website. Users agree not to use the username or password of another user at any time or to disclose your password to any third party. You agree to notify the iMapInvasives administrator immediately if you suspect any unauthorized use of your username or access to your password. You are solely responsible for any and all uses of your username and password.


NatureServe does not endorse any Contributor Content or any opinion, recommendation, or advice expressed therein, and NatureServe expressly disclaims any and all liability in connection with Contributor Content. NatureServe does not permit copyright infringing activities and infringement of intellectual property rights on its Website, and NatureServe will remove all Content if properly notified that such Content infringes on another's intellectual property rights. NatureServe reserves the right to remove without prior notice.


How iMapInvasives uses your information. Any personal information, including name, contact information, username and password, iMapInvasives may use to process and respond to inquiries and for the purposes for which you provided the information such as: 1) to register or renew you as a user, 2) to provide or receive information about Content and 3) if you are a Contributor to provide your name with data records in accordance with the Content Sharing License Agreement (see section 7).

Who iMapInvasives shares the information with: User name and email address may be shared with like-minded organizations working on invasive species issues. iMapInvasives may also share your information with third parties in the following situations (i) to complete your request, e.g. providing information about Content or services; (ii) to complete or outsource one or more of the functions described above; or (iii) to share your information with the authorities in response to a legal order or official request, or when we believe you have acted in violation of our Terms of Use.

Choice (opting out of iMapInvasives): Users have the right to opt-out of certain information sharing. You may choose to opt-out of receiving e-mail and information from iMapInvasives via your personal profile settings. You may choose to remove yourself as an active iMapInvasives User. Contact your iMapInvasives Administrator.


All Users must agree to the Content Sharing License Agreement.

It is the intent of NatureServe for iMapInvasives to serve as a resource to those working to abate the threat of invasive species. The iMapInvasives Executive Committee!executive-committee/c17fr intends to share Content entered into the iMapInvasives website universally within Content-sharing Protocols as established by the iMapInvasives Executive Committee.!content-sharing-protocols/c9py. The iMapInvasives Executive Committee reserves the right to set and/or modify Content-sharing Protocols at any time in its sole discretion.

By registering as a User and entering Content into the iMapInvasives web site:
(i) you agree to NatureServe's Terms of Use, including but not limited to the terms regarding Postings and User Content; and
(ii) you automatically grant to other iMapInvasives users a royalty-free, perpetual, irrevocable, non- exclusive right and license to use, reproduce, modify, publish, translate, create derivative works from, distribute, transmit, perform, and display such Content or information (in whole or in part) worldwide and/or to incorporate into other works in any form, media, or technology now known or later developed for the full term of any rights that may exist in such Content; and
(iii) you agree to comply with the Content Sharing Protocols, and
(iv) you acknowledge that data records that you have entered will include the use of your name as a record identifier except where children less than 13 are covered by other provisions of this agreement.
(v) you agree to obtain knowledge and consent of the landowner before posting data on invasive species located on private property.
